We were both feeling a bit tender this morning and very tired – my feet and back are hurting today too.  Fortunately the hotel said we could leave our bags at reception until our taxi driver came to pick us up at 4.30pm – it also meant I did not have to walk around in my walking boots, good job as it is the hottest day so far this stay and the highest humidity .

We got the train to Masjid Jamek and walked the short distance to Merdeka Square which is ringed by many heritage buildings.  The architecture of the buildings was amazing.

We then caught a taxi to the Lake gardens area of the city, a beautiful areas with lots of parks including the worlds largest open air bird aviary – which unfortunately we didn’t get time to see, a huge orchid garden and the reason we went the worlds largest butterfly park.  It was stunning – small waterfalls with ponds with large coy carp in them, 1000’s of species of butterfly, dragonflies, ants, turtles, geckos all in a stunt location.

This ant was the length of my fingernail pretty big as ants go!!
