The entire area of Angkor was surrounded by beautiful walls with gate houses dotted around as a way of getting through to the other side. Most are not used now a days and have fallen into disrepair but Victory gate was a stunning example of the gates it was huge and unbelievably beautiful. Unfortunately all of the statues going up to the gate had been beheaded by the Hindus when they came to the area as they were statues of Buddha
