It was very hot by the time we got back to reasonable dirt tracks and as soon as we got near the river I asked if we could stop so I could lie in the river to cool off. It was so nice!! There were some locals washing their clothes in the river and bathing and they smiled and waved.

As we were getting into Siem Reap the sun was setting at about 6pm – I arrived back at our room only to be greeted by a very upset Katie – she had been worried but I had had no way of contacting her. She got over it – I think.
