The Phnom Kulen national park is a good 1 1/2 hours bike ride from Siem Reap and is said to be the birth place of the Khmer empire.
Our first stop was to be a waterfall as I love them.  After there being no water in the river at the lingas (river carvings) yesterday I was worried there might not be much water – however the water falls were beautiful, as well as a small derelict temple and a small river carving.
We got there for 9.30am after a few stops for water, and camera bits for Mr Kurt.

I can see why no tuk tuks can go up there as there are no Tarmac roads, very steep and lots of dust.  There were only a few people there all locals no tourists when we arrived.  We walked around the temple which was lovely saw the top waterfall and the river carving which was underwater so couldn’t get a good photo.

We then walked down to the main waterfall which in the wet season is very big but it was amazing all the same.  There was only me and 2 kids and their dog in the pool at the bottom of the waterfall – it was so refreshing swimming.  There were also the fish that nibble the dry skin off your feet in the pool so that was interesting.  It was so magical being the only one actual swimming.
