We had an amazing evening at the Zazu Quito restaurant with people we would be travelling with on Galapapagos trip.
At 7.30pm we met some of e group at we were going to be on the boat on our galapagos trip, Michael, Caron, Tim, Barbara, John, Janet and Tim (co owner of the Arblaster and Clark wine company we were travelling with) we will meet the rest tomorrow at the airport.
We went to Zazu restaurant the food was amazing to start with we all had crabs claw with lemon dip, then I had Carpaccio of beef with mushroom and goats cheese filling, then swordfish marinated with lemon pesto with asparagus and mash, and finally for pudding a chocolate fondants with guanabana sorbet, crisp meringue with rock hard caramel strands – mouth is watering just writing this!
This was the first night that we had some alcohol as we knew the rest of the trip would be wines for lunch and dinner as well as wine tasting.
Zazu restaurant has the most amazing wine cellar, huge glass doors which revolved and inside spiralling up more wine than I ever imagined and the only way to the top one’s was by a narrow ladder up the middle !!
