After leaving Ta Prohm we headed for Banteay Kdei just a few miles away. This was built in the 12th century around the time of Ta Prohm. Not much restoration has been done to this temple and it is a massive complex
Srah Sray
The lake next to Banteay Kdei is called Srah Sray translated as Royal bath and was used for ritual bathing. The steps down to the water face the rising sun. The landing area dates back to 12th century but the lake itself dates back 200 years earlier.
