According to the large tourist map when we were buying my national park ticket in the south of the national park is the bat cave.

We followed some instructions by a local bike rider and came across this road sign for the bat cave.

We were slightly concerned about the road but someone else riding the opposite way reassured us the road got better

After an hour of travelling on roads which I have no idea how the bike and we got through we arrived at the bat cave.

Roads were very difficult but the scenery was stunning

There were no tourists – not a surprise really as pretty inaccessible – there were a few people lying in hammocks who showed us where to go.

Entrance to bat cave

The rock had been eroded away by water at some point and and left amazing formations.

As we got deeper into the cave the temperature dropped to about 4/5 Celsius which was a lovely temperature.

Then we heard the bats !!! I love bats but for anyone who doesn’t they were very noisy and flying around just above our heads there were thousands of them, so cute too.  There was an alter with a bhudda and other religious bits.
