We left my dads house near Andover in Hampshire at 3.15pm and got to Heathrow at 430pm, we had already checked in on line with Iberian airlines the night before so baggage was very quick and easy. The suitcases were going to be transferred straight to Quito so we just had to hope that they made all the connecting flights fingers crossed.

We first flew from Heathrow to Madrid which was just over 2 hours – at Madrid there was an hour and a half break before our next flight. Then we had to change planes to fly from Madrid to Guayaquil in Ecuador which was about a 12 hours flight. We then changed planes again and flew onto Quito another 50 minute flight.

I was so tired as I had only managed to get about half an hours sleep in total but I was so excited to be in Ecuador.
