Wake up call was at 6am so we could do some kayaking before breakfast, me and dad struggled a little with co-ordination. The first thing we saw was 2 very inquisitive turtles watching us. We saw lots of different wildlife penguins, pelicans, flightless cormorants and what Galapagos is famous for in the bird arena – the Blue Footed Boobies – which as you can imagine my young boys thought was a hilarious name when I got home. This cove is famous for ships captains writing the names of the all the ships that anchored there to write their boat names on it – this practise is now banned. It was a lovely cool morning and we got back for breakfast at 7.45 am.

At about 9.45am we went snorkelling, the visibility was not as good as yesterday due to turbulence but the amount of turtles was amazing I lost count when I counted 20 of them in a small area. The some sea-lions came for a game of mimic the human, once we made eye contact they would swim within a few feet of us twisting and mimicking everything we did. Dad didn’t like the thought of snorkelling so I always went on my own with about 6 other people from the boat. We saw a huge manta ray come up from the depths but quickly retreated when it saw us.

Finally we saw a large group of penguins which were very fast and some pregnant sea horses holding onto the weed.
As we returned for lunch we were very tired so we decided to get out of our wetsuits and relax in the hot tub, It has to be the best view from a hot tub that I have ever had – and we were aloud to take beer in too.
